  • To be fair, this has been built up over a number of decades. US reliance on Saudi oil is the root of this problem, and that isn't a Trump thing, that goes back a long way. US presidents have been kissing butts of Saudi royals for decades, and for decades they've had a miserable human rights record to say the least.

  • Ha, this is kind of funny because it has basically been a tie between Good Life, Gazette, and Philosophy the whole time. I voted for the Voux, so it is actually behind the others when you take out my vote. Clearly Enya is out!

  • Interesting examples of bias and opinion masquerading as news here.

    1. First says democrats are going "all in", but mostly has only 1 very minor policy proposal: background checks.

    2. There is also mention of a single actual Democrat, rather than quotes from a large number to go with the "all in" theme.

    3. This statement makes so many assumptions and so much bias it is laughable: "The National Republican Congressional Committee suggested that the move was the latest example of the Democratic Party catering to its left-wing base rather than everyday Americans." Really? Nobody from the DCCC was quoted on the other side, there is no evidence presented that this isn't an issue of "everyday Americans", and assumes this is pandering to a left wing base. Much of the left wing of the base is going for Medicare for all, free college tuition, and an end to our endless wars.

    4. Going back to 1994 to show an issue is risky today is a spurious comparison. It assumes nothing has changed in 22 years.

    5. The last paragraph awkwardly pivots to abortion for no reason.

Good add here because it shows so much bias. ;)

  • The disconnect between the actual quote and the headline here is a great example of how media bias works. The headline makes it sound like he hates America. The actual quote is more nuanced, but most people will only see the headline.

  • If there's one thing our elections need, it is more secret money. :/

  • He read a statement from a piece of paper and still couldn't help going off script to say "No collusion" every other sentence. His tone sounded like a 6 year old forced to read an apology from a piece of paper. He also contradicted months of previous statements.

    He didn't misspeak yesterday. He's Putin's puppet.

  • Doomed!

  • Wow, this notes the causes and then ignores it. Millennials are having fewer kids, delaying marriage and homeownership, and it is largely because they are financially insecure with lower real wages than in previous generations. The article also lumps together multiple philosophies under the catch-all term of socialism, when they are really talking about democratic socialism, aka social democracy. People who aren't getting the kind of wages their parents got, who are also saddled with a pile of student loan debt, are less likely to undertake those long-term commitments. And since the current system has failed them, they turn away from that system. That's not that surprising.
